Everywhere we go, people get impressed for Catherine's improvements, even a doctor, who once said sarcastically that we should pray because we were wrong about the idea of Topical Steroid Withdrawal and she would get scars, said that it was a miracle. My mom also said she was very happy because no matter how many people, including her, were against of doing TSW, we never throw in the towel.
Definitely, God hears our prayers! I'm very thankful for all our friends and family who have been praying for our daughter Catherine; and also special thanks to my sister and mother in law who went through the most difficult part of this process and sacrificed many months to live madness with us. I was lucky that my husband was a supporter of the steroid addiction idea from the very beginning and never questioned me of any action or decision I made; I would say that thinking the same way was the key to survive the most difficult moments.
I need to scream out loud, Topical Steroid Addiction exists, and it is not something psychological as some doctors say. Thank you ITSAN, Kline, Isaiah, Little Abby and many other kids who share their journeys and made me feel confident during all this time. Also, thank you Dr. Bruce Eisenberg for support us and give us alternatives to treat eczema rather than cortisone creams, Elidel or Protopic.
We still have a long road ahead because her arms and legs are still dry and itchy and her food options are very limited, but at least she has progressed to clear up without using topical steroids.
Now our life is getting back to normal, Catherine is able to wear a bikini out on a beach and pick up fresh veggies and fruits under noon day sun.
